Revision Tips

Hi there,

So ever since I've been at secondary school I've always struggled at revision for exams. I struggle at staying focused {To be honest that's the same in life}, being motivated and remembering things. So through the years I've discovered ways that help me and I thought I would share them with you.

  • Quick bursts ~ I find that doing revision for a long time is really boring so if you do it for about half an hour then do something for a while then come back to it, I find this really useful.
  • Using A LOT of colours ~ I find it easier to learn and remember if key words and phrases stand out, so I use a lot of colours when writing notes.
  • Diagrams ~ Even if your not good at drawing simple diagrams can help because you will hopefully remember them when it comes to exams and things.
  • Spread it out ~ I find that doing the same subject for a long time can also be boring so if you do several different subjects instead of one I find this can help but I know some people find it more confusing.
  • Not sitting in silence ~ I cant sit in silence at the best of times so when revising I like to have something in the background, I think this also helps you feel like your not in an exam because when things are silent I feel like it's an exam.
This are just a few of my tips to revising. I hope you find these useful and please feel free to comment with your tips I would love to read them. Thank you for reading.

Back to School

Hi there,

It's nearly September and in England that means its back to school, this gave me the perfect excuse to show what essentials and random things that people need for school {Also so I can go buying way to much stationary than I actually need}.

Essentials

Stationary is essential for students, so I thought I'd share the things I find to be the essentials.
Sabilo HB Pencils

Papermate ball point pens
Pencils ~ Wilkos - £1.50 {Pack of 4}
Pens ~ Asda - £1 {Pack of 2}

Obviously every student will need pens and pencils. I find that these pens are great because they last ages and are comfortable to write with also there cheap. The pencils are also really good for standard use and with them having a rubber on the tip it makes them even better.

Rulers

Folding Ruler ~ Morrisons - £2
Penguin Ruler ~ Wilkos - 50p

I find that having a 30cm ruler and 15cm ruler is handy because you don't have to have a big ruler when drawing small lines. Having a folding ruler is also useful because it will fit into a pencil case easier.

Bic Highlighters

Coloured Fine liners

Coloured Biro's

Staedtler Coloured Pencils

Berol by Papermate Felt tips
Highlighters ~ Morrisons - £4
Fine liners ~ Morrisons - £2
Biro's ~ Asda - £1
Coloured Pencils ~ Rymans - £5
Felt tips ~ Rymans - £3

I find that these items are useful especially for revision or making posters.

Beauty

I don't really wear that much make-up when at school, I wear concealer and eyeliner mainly.
Rimmel London Scandaleyes waterproof thick and thin eyeliner

Rimmel Lonodon Wake me up concealer {010 Ivory}

Eyeliner ~ Boots - £4.99
Concealer ~ Boots - £5.99

I wear these two things most days as they are simple and quick to do in the morning so your not rushing to get ready.

I also find it useful to have moisturiser and small antiperspirant in my bag just in case because you never know when you'll need them.
Sure crystal invisible black + white antiperspirant

Nivea soft moisturising cream
Antiperspirant ~ Asda - £3
Moisturiser ~ Asda - £4

I hope you have found this useful, whether your going back to school or are just intrigued and I would also like to point out that these are the prices I paid, the products may have been on sale and these product will be available in other shops, I've just said where I got them. Other brands are available these are just the things I bought. Thank you for reading, next post will be at the weekend.

Healthier Lifestyle

Hi there,

Since the summer holidays have started I've began to make some healthier choices in the way I go about my day. I thought that I'd share these with you and give some tips to have a healthier lifestyle with little changes.

Food

When it came to food I made changes to what I ate, by having less meat and more veg. Or by having less carbs. I still have the occasional treat because if you don't, I think it feels more like a diet rather than healthier eating. I've also been drinking a lot more water rather than fizzy pop or juice which also helps your skin.

Porridge, Raspberries and Blackberries - Breakfast
Ham Salad - Lunch

Apple Pop Tarts - Dessert

Daily Activities

When going to the shop I've started to walk or bike rather than go in the car with my mum or brother. It's better for you because your getting some exercise but also saving money on fuel. Since it summer holidays I've also been able to see my baby cousins a lot more which when playing with them, its exercise and you don't really know it. I know that not everyone has smaller children in their family but its an idea.

Please feel free to leave comments with little tips, I would love to here them. Please spread the word about me and my blog and thank you for reading.

PS: I know I missed last week, there are going to be two posts this week.

Summer Projects

Hi there,

I'm currently off school and wanted some big {ish} projects to do. I started off the summer just watching loads off box sets. Then one day I wanted to do something different.

Decorating my Room

Me and my mum had already decided that we was going to redecorate my bedroom, but I asked her if I could redesign my room {since I am a graphic design student}. I really enjoyed doing these design and spend about a week doing these. Which considering I have a box room is a long time. I finally finished them and showed mum, that day we decided to go to all the local hardware stores and buy everything I wanted for my room. We still have a lot things to buy but i have most of the stuff. When we have finished my room i will take loads of pictures and do a blog post about it. So far we have bought everything and painted the ceiling and woodwork. Next week we are doing the wall paper.

Starting a Blog

I don't really have anything 'productive' to do when I'm not doing school work or doing something in my room. So I thought why not design and write a blog. I began to design and create my blog almost a month ago. When creating something like this, I do like to be around 80% happy with it. If I'm not that happy with it I will start again. Once it was almost complete I began coming up with ideas I can do as I think by now you can tell I like to plan things.
I'm going to be posting every Sunday to begin with about most things. If you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to comment. Please spread the word about me an my blog and follow me on twitter. my link is to the right.

Thank You for reading,
Zoe Marie.
